A nuestros Voluntarios de Oro / To our Golden Volunteers:

Cuando llega diciembre, me gusta hacer una pausa, para reflexionar en lo que sucedió durante el año, y traer a la conciencia cada pequeña cosa, guardada en los rinconcitos de la memoria. Como en una galería de arte, me detengo frente a cada una, dedicándole tiempo a los detalles. Y al llegar al final, siempre descubro que me siento agradecida; agradecida por la oportunidad de haber sido un canal para la creación, por estar viva y ser testigo del milagro del Amor, y por tener frente a mi el lienzo vacío del año venidero, donde juntos pintaremos con el caudal del corazón, nuevas y coloridas formas.

Como bien saben, este año 2011, ha sido el de mayor producción de nuestra pequeña Sarada Ma Publishing. Vimos nacer 10 publicaciones nuevas. Vimos crecer nuevas bibliotecas y comenzamos a sentir lo que se siente cuando se es llamado a dar con el corazón abierto: a personas en lugares remotos del mundo y a quienes están en prisiones de este país. Vimos también, con gran alegría, como las donaciones y cooperación llegaron cuando fueron necesarias, haciendo todo posible.

Por todo esto, y mucho más, les estoy eternamente agradecida.

En este mes especial, es a ustedes, nuestros Voluntarios de Oro, a quienes quiero darles mi más cálido deseo de unas ¡Felices Fiestas!

Que la Luz los rodee y bendiga en Navidad, y que el Año Nuevo los colme de verdadera felicidad.

When this month comes, I like to make a pause to reflect on what had happen during the year, and to bring to awareness even the smallest memory stored. As in an art gallery, I stop in each one of them, slowly looking at its details. And when I reach the end, it is always to discover that I feel grateful, grateful for having the opportunity of being a channel for creation, grateful for being alive and witnessing the miracle of Love, and grateful for having in front of me the blank canvas of the new year, where together we will pour our heart in new colorful forms.

As you well know, in 2011, we have seen the largest production of our little Sarada Ma Publishing. 10 new publications where released in only 9 months. We’ve also seen the growing of the libraries’ project, and started to feel what is felt when one is call to give with an open heart: to people in remote areas of the world and to prisoners serving time in this country. We’ve also seen with great joy, more donations and cooperation coming as needed, making everything possible.

For all this, and much more, I feel eternally grateful to you all.

In this special month of the year, it is to you, our Golden Volunteers, to whom I wish my warmest Very Merry Christmas!!!

May the Light embrace and bless you at Christmas and May the New Year fill your life with true happiness.

Este año ha venido con una energía especial; luego de haber publicado en español un Bestseller de Vedanta en inglés y la más importante biografía de Sri Ramakrishna, ahora tenemos la dicha de presentar la biografía de Sarala, la niña-enfermera a quien nada menos que la Santa Madre le pidió que viviera con ella. Se educó con Sister Nivedita y llevó una vida de renunciación desde su infancia. Ella se convertiría, más tarde, en Pravrajika Bharatiprana, una de las primeras monjas de la Orden Ramakrishna y la primer presidente de Sri Sarada Math, el monasterio femenino en India. En esta biografía se presenta el tesoro de las memorias de Pravrajika Bharatiprana, llenas de sus dulces e íntimos recuerdos de la Santa Madre, Swami Saradananda, Yogin Ma, Golap Ma, Nivedita, Sudhira y otros.

This year came with a special energy. After releasing in Spanish a bestseller of Vedanta in English and Sri Ramakrishna's most important biography, now we have the joy of presenting Sarala's biography, the nurse-girl who took care of Holy Mother, Sarada Devi, in her last illness.

Educated by Sister Nivedita, she lived a life of renunciation since childhood. Sarala became in her later days Pravrajika Bharatiprana, one of the first nuns of the Ramakrishna Order and the first President of Sri Sarada Math, the independent female monastery in India.

The book contains her sweet and intimate memories of Holy Mother, Swami Saradananada, Yogin Ma, Golap Ma, Nivedita, Sudhira and others.

No pudimos encontrar una mejor manera de comenzar el año que publicando esta magnífica compilación sobre la visión de Vedanta de Swami Vivekananda.

We could not find a better way to start the new year but by publishing in Spanish this excellent compilation of Swami Vivekananda lectures on Vedanta.

¿Que qué ha estado ocurriendo? / So what were we Doing?

Recuerdan que algunos meses antes estábamos trabajando en el proyecto para enviar libros a las cárceles? Bueno, conocimos el trabajo de Prison Dharma Network (PDN), una reconocida organización internacional, no sectaria y sin fines de lucro, que cuenta entre sus consejeros espirituales con miembros de la talla del padre Thomas Keating,Thrangu Rinponche, Rabi David Cooper, Pema Chodron. ¡Ellos nos invitaron a formar parte de su programa: Libros Detrás de las Rejas, con nuestra literatura Vedanta! Lo más hermoso de todo fue recibir el apoyo incondicional de ustedes. Yo sólo escribí un mensaje en Facebook para inmediatamente enterarme que tantos de ustedes querían participar. Los miembros de Sarada Ma Prison Project están listos para regalar un libro a un prisionero cuando así se lo requiera. Gracias por todo y especialmente por demostrar una vez más que en cada uno de nosotros está el poder infinito: el de amar.

La otra noticia tiene que ver con publicaciones. Está a punto de nacer Vedanta Voz de la Libertad, es una compilación de las conferencias de Swami Vivekananda hecha por Swami Chetanananda. Maravilloso material, pleno de la fortaleza y espontaneidad de sus charlas. ¿Sabían que él nunca preparó sus conferencias de antemano? Simplemente dejaba que la voz del corazón hablara y ¡vaya si lo hizo!

Aquí unas líneas en avance:

"Este es el secreto: pensar que soy El Espíritu, y que todo el universo, con todas sus relaciones, con toda su bondad y maldad, no es más que una serie de cuadros, pinturas, a las cuales sólo contemplo". Deseo que este pensamiento nos acompañe durante el mes de noviembre, fortaleciéndonos a cada paso.

We have been busy. Do you remember when a few months ago we were starting Sarada Ma Prison Project? Well, we came to know on PDN, Prison Dharma Network. It is a well known non profit organization, international and non sectarian. PDN counts with renowned spiritual figures as its advisers: Father Thomas Keating, Thrangu Rinponche, Rabi David Cooper, Pema Chodron.... PDN invited us to participate with our Vedanta literature in Spanish in their Books Behind Bars Program! And the best of all is the unconditional support we received from all of you. I only wrote a few lines on Facebook and the next thing was to know how many of you were out there wanting to be part of it. THANK YOU! Sarada Ma Prison Network's members are ready to gift a book to a prisoner whenever requested. So many thanks for your support and specially for showing us once again that within everyone resides the infinite power, the power of love.

The other news is that we are going to release the Spanish translation of Vedanta Voice of Freedom, a compilation of Swami Vivekananda's lectures by Swami Chetanananda. This translation is only possible thanks to the generous contribution of a devotee. And this will become one of our favorite titles for the Books Behind the Bars program.

Here a few lines from Vivekananda in Vedanta Voice of Freedom:

"That is the secret: to think that I am the Spirit, and that the whole of this universe, with all its relations, with all its good and all its evil, is but a series of paintings of which I am the witness."

May this thought strengthen our life during this November.
